Medical diet

The medical diet is low calorific diet that became very popular because it offers quick weight loss in a very short period. There are several types of medical diets, but in general they are based on the same method - consuming small amount of calories which leads to weight loss.
The medical diets promises quick results for very short period.

Plan for your meals

ПThe breakfast is the same every day and it should include:
- 1 fruit (it can be orange, apple, peach, pear, but do not have a banana or grapes)
- 1 slice of toast
- a cup of coffee or tea (sugar free)


Lunch:
• 1 orange
• 1 boiled egg
• 250-300g yogurt

Dinner:
• 2 tomatoes
• 1 cucumber
• 2 slices of toast

Lunch:
• 1 orange
• 1 boiled egg
• 250-300g yogurt

Dinner:
• 125g boiled beef meat
• 1 tomato
• 1 orange
• 1 slice of toast
• coffee or tea sugar free

Lunch:

• 125g boiled beef meat
• 1 orange

• 125g boiled beef meat
• 2 tomatoes
• 1 apple
• 1 slice of toast

Lunch:
• 200g Boiled meat or fish
• 1 tomato
• 1 slice of toast

Dinner:
• 300g carrots, peas or broccoli
• 1 boiled egg
• 1 tomato

Basic diet rules

• We need to consume all the ingredients listed without skipping and in the order they are given. The ingredients should be eaten one after another and should not be mixed.
• Alcohol should be avoid.
• The meat and the vegetable are boiled in water with one cube of soup.

Duration and results

The first cycle of the diet lasts for five days. The sixth and the seventh day are pause days, and then a new five-day cycle begins. The diet promises weight loss by 2-5 kg during the first five days.
For more weight loss, it’s recommended to keep the diet for 15 days, or 3 cycles. That means five days a diet, two free, five days a diet, two free, five days a diet. Do not keep this diet for more than 15 days!
In 15 days you will lose 10-15kg.

After finishing your diet

In the period after finishing the diet it’s recommended that you should avoid greasy food, Во периодот по завршувањето на диетата се препорачува избегнување на мрсна храна, baked goods and sugar. Besides, once a week (for example in Monday) a purification of the body should be done. The menu for that day should be:


• glass of water with squeezed juice of one lemon

• 1 apple
• 1 slice of toast

• 1 slice of toast

Negative sides of the diet

• Predicts consummation of very few calories. During the diet less than 1.200 calories are taken. (1.200 is the minimum of the calories women should take every day. This can cause tiredness, lack of energy and anxiety.
• It recommends consuming the ingredients one ofter another according a specific schedule. That makes some people give up from some ingredients (for example, some people can’t eat only tomato, so they skip it).
• There are no restriction for the two days of pause, so some people eat more during those days. The cycle of starvation during the working week, overeating during the weekend, so again starvation is a shock to the body.
• The diet brings the risk of yo-yo effect. Quick weight loss can lead to even quicker weight gain, familiar as yo-yo effect. After finishing your diet you should not go back to your old way of eating. You need to increase the intake of fruits and vegetables and take it to minimum the consummation of fast food so that you will prevent the weight gain.
• Physical activity is not recommended

Positives sides of the diet

• promises quick results;
• two days in the week are free days when you can take some rest and prepare yourself physically and mentally for the next cycle, if you need it of course.;
• preparing tha food doesn’t take too much time;
• It’s not an expensive food.

Note:

Even though the diet is called “medical”, it shouldn’t be understood as a diet recommended and approved by the doctors! This diet doesn’t fulfill the requirements of healthy and balanced diet for an active person because of the small amount of calories.
The diet was popularized as “medical” because, apparently, it’s applied with patients with heart diseases, that need to lose weight before operation.
